PSP Replacement Screen
PSP Replacement Screen – You Don’t Need To Pay Someone Else To Do This
If you need a PSP replacement screen then don’t go to a repair shop! Firstly, they will take you kit at least over night and then there is a chance that all they are going to do is follow the same instructions that you could follow – and guess what – there is no way that they will treat it with the same tender loving care that you would.
A PSP replacement screen is not like brain surgery – you do not need any qualifications or experience to successfully complete the task.
Firstly you need to buy your replacement screen. Make sure that you buy this from someone with a returns policy, the last thing you need is to have a problem and the company to not play ball.
All you will need by way of equipment is a couple of small Philips screw divers (00, 000) and one flat head.
• Firstly you need to remove the 5 screws holding the front cover in place. The first two screws are under the battery cover and battery. The next two are on the side of the memory stick and the last is on the other side. Your face plate is now ready to be removed.
• Now remove the button bar, this is attached with a small brown cable to the mother board – carefully disconnect this cable.
• You will now be able to see four small clips, two on each side, which old the screen in place.
• Carefully use the flathead screwdriver to remove the left hand clips then pull out the screen.
• The screen is attached with two cables – these are held in place with two black clasps – carefully lift these and release the cables.
Now you need to fit your new screen assembly with backlight. This is a simple reversal of what you have just done.
• Place the new screen into the front cover.
• Reattached the cables and clasps
• Clip the PSP replacement screen into place. Now is a good time to turn it on and check it works. (Remember to turn it off again).
• Put the faceplate back on and reaffix your screws.
Job done.
There is one thing to note. Under the battery cover there are two screws which need to be removed. One of these may be under the warranty sticker – you can try to peal this back – but if it goes to a repair shop you can guarantee that they will rip this off. The repair shop would say that they will cover it under their own warranty – however, if they mess this up would you actually go back and let them touch your PSP again. So which ever way you look at it replacing your screen will mean touching the warranty sticker.
Good luck and hope that you are back to playing quickly!
